Indian Gear

Wolf Families - if your Scout was in Pack 70 his Tiger year and received an Indian headband, please bring the headband to the Den Meeting on May 23rd. We will be measuring them to make sure they still fit and adding to them for the Wolf Indian Experience

All other Families - if your Scout has Indian items from a previous ceremony, please bring those to the ceremony on June 2nd.

Visit to Raycom Communications May 30th

Pack 70 will be visiting Raycom Communications (thanks to Caden's Mom, Kelly) on May 30th at 7:00 (regular meeting night - we will meet at the station at 6:45 instead of at our normal meeting place). This is NOT this coming week, but the Wednesday after Memorial Day. The address of the station is 1900 West Morehead Street. There is a visitor parking lot on the left side of the building (when facing the building from the street) - please park here. We will all meet in the parking lot. I wanted to make sure I got this out early, so you could make plans if other travel arrangements need to be made.

I have detailed below the requirements (other than just being a really cool outing) that this trip will provide for all the boys.

Webelos: Communicator Pin #7 - Visit a newsroom of a newspaper or a radio or television station and find out how they receive information.

Bears: 17C - Visit a newspaper office or a TV or radio station and talk to a news reporter

Wolf: Elective 21 - Visit a business where computers are used. Find out what computers do.

Tiger: 4G - Visit a television station, radio station or newspaper office. Find out how people there communicate

Pack Meeting and Indian Ceremony

Our Final Pack Meeting of the year is Saturday, June 2nd. We will have the award ceremony in the Scout Hut and then move to the fire ring behind the Fellowship Hall for the Indian Ceremony. Please make sure you bring a chair and insect repellent. The Leaders will provide the snacks for this special occasion.

Advancement Patches and Beltloops

Time is running out to earn advancement (your Tiger, Wolf, Bear or Webelos Badge). We only have a few weeks left in the scouting year. If you are unsure about what you need to do to complete your achievements, please see your Den Leader, Ms. Joy or Ms. Malinda. All items must be turned in by May 30th.
